The 2026 National Specialty will be hosted by the Dogwood Welsh Springer Spaniel Club of Greater Atlanta on Sunday, April 12, 2026.  It will be an independent specialty held in conjunction with the  Peach Blossom Cluster of Shows at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry, Georgia. There will be a lot of activities to participate in. Check out the information below for WSSCA and other events!

Welsh Springer conformation judging for the entire cluster will be in the Multipurpose Building. See Fairground’s map.

Lodging

There is no host hotel.  There are several nice, pet friendly, hotels in Perry as well as in nearby Warner Robbins. A new Marriott hotel inside the Fairgrounds that operates under the Fairfield Inn and Town Place Suites brands has just opened. It is pet-friendly but has a 1 pet per room limit and a $50 pet fee.

There are also numerous Air BnB and VRBO rentals in the area along with RV parking on-site.

Grooming

There is plenty of free ringside grooming space with electrical in the Multiperpose Building. No reservation is required. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Iron Welsh Challenge

An Iron Welsh Challenge will be sponsored by the host club, Dogwood Welsh Springer Spaniel Club of Greater Atlanta. For more information and to sign up please see the 2026 Iron Welsh Flyer .

There will be two Scent Work Trials hosted by WSSCA, and the Cluster is offering Agility, Rally and Obedience.

Annual Meeting & Banquet is Saturday, April 11 at the Fairgrounds

The WSSC Annual Meeting & Banquet will be Saturday, April 11, 2025 in the Miller-Murphy-Howard building at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, Georgia. The meeting is open to non-members but only members may vote. 

There will be a cash bar beginning at 5:00 pm.  Dinner will be at 6:30 and the Annual Meeting will begin at 7:00 pm.

The banquet will be a buffet dinner with the following menu items.:

Herb Roasted Chicken (GF); Pot Roast with Carrots and Potatoes (GF); Mixed Greens House Salad – croutons/cheese on the side along with assorted dressings (V/VEG/GF); Baked Potato – with butter/sour cream/bacon on the side (V/VEG/GF); Italian Green Beans (VEG/V/GF); Apple Crisp -with Ice Cream on the side (Ice Cream GF); Coffee, tea, water 

$35 per person

Ringside Lunch

Arrangements have been made for box-lunches to be delviered to the show building on the day of the Specialty. Lunch consists of a choice of sandwich, with a side salad and dessert.  Beverages will be provided by the Host Club.

Judges Education Seminar Wednesday, April 8 at 1:30 pm

There will be a Judges Education Seminar on the Welsh Springer Spaniel presented by WSSCA Judges Ed Chair Meghen Bassel on Wednesday, April 8, beginning at 1:30 pm. This seminar is offered in conjunction with a series of seminars on the Sporting group hosted by the Georgia Conformation Judges Association. It is open to anyone interested in learning about the Welsh Springer Spaniel but advance registration is reuired.
