  • The Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) provides information about a breeder’s health testing.  Tested dogs with a CHIC # is an affirmation of the the owner’s willingness to share information about the health of individual dogs but is not a statement about the health of the dog.   • The OFA thyroid testing program is a tool for breeders to screen for the most common genetic reason for hypothyroidism, Autoimmune Thyroiditis. WSSCA member Eric Hartelius, DVM’s article, OFA Thyroid Testing TIps, explains the test and interpreting results.  
  • The Genetics Committee of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists is publishes The Blue Book of information on canine ocular disorders presumed to be inherited.
